St Joseph: Silent but Obedient

Today we read about St Joseph, Mary's husband and the adoptive father of Jesus, in the book In Caelo et in Terra.

We know very little about Joseph's life. He doesn't have any recorded words in the Bible. But we do know that he obeyed what Gold told him to do, even when it was difficult. He believed both God and his wife Mary when they said something extremely difficult to believe: that Mary conceived Jesus as a virgin. You can read more about him here.

When God tells you something difficult to accept, what do you do? It's a great lesson we can learn from Joseph: be quiet, think about what He said, and do what He tells us.

God, thanks for teaching us through this quiet follower of Jesus. St Joseph, pray for us.
