Today in the One Year Bible, we're reminded of something very important. The reading is from John 13:1-30. Jesus washes the disciples' feet. And that teaches us how we are to treat every person we meet, every day of our lives.
It's actually very freeing! When you approach every relationship with the idea that you want to serve them, it takes you out of your pride and insecurity and selfishness, and it makes you much more liked by the people you serve (as a rule. There are, of course and unfortunately, exceptions.)
So keep that in mind as you start your day. Every person you meet, you're called to serve. Find out how to serve them best, and then show God how much you love Him by serving His child.
God, thanks for showing us servant leadership. Help us love Your children.
