above everything else

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Colossians 2:8-23. Paul tells us that all of the rules we've grown up with - don't eat, don't touch, etc. - were all bringing us to the place where we met Him. Now that we're united with Him - remaining in Him as He remains in us - those rules are below us. We don't have to cling tightly to the rules anymore. We have found what the rules were for - what their purpose was.

Now we've been set free. So let's live in that freedom. Let's make the most of every opportunity, and help those around us to find that same light. To become connected to that source. To be united with Him like we are.

God, thanks for raising us above the rules. Help us stay united with You.
