persistent forgiveness

Lewis tells us about having to forgive people over and over today in A Year with C.S. Lewis.

He says we have to forgive over and over. And we do. Once again, here is a picture of His asking us to do something that we need Him to do for us as well.

Jesus told His disciples to forgive seventy times seven times.

And we know that we can ask Him to forgive us over and over and over, no matter how many times, and He does.

So let's learn to be patient with those we have to forgive repeatedly, since we ask Him to do the same for us. And when we need help being patient, we can ask for help with that as well.

God, thanks for Your forgiveness, which we can never exhaust.

Amen, at times it seems over and over is just too much....then I pause and think.....my sins don't change much.
