what to do with wickedness

Today's readings: Zechariah 4:1-5:11, Revelation 14:1-20, Psalm 142:1-7, Proverbs 30:21-23

Today we read about a wicked woman in a basket. And when the angel shows this woman to Zechariah, he then pushed her back into the basket and closed the lid.

Good advice.

But sometimes we don't push her back, we don't close the lid. We hurt ourselves when we give in to temptation (of any kind, of any wickedness). But there is forgiveness. God knows that we will fail from time to time. He knows that we will make bad choices occasionally. But we are given another glimpse of eternity in the readings, too. The 144,000 who sing a song that only they can learn because they didn't consider their lives to be worth more than their faith in God.

So yes, we will be forgiven when we fall.

But there is an amazing goal to shoot for - and God will help us attain it if we ask Him.

God, thank You for your forgiveness... and for helping us to become Your children.
