sometimes redundancy is good for emphasis

Today's readings: Nahum 1:1-3:19, Revelation 8:1-13, Psalm 136:1-26, Proverbs 30:7-9

Life can be hard. I know several people who are trudging down some hard roads right now. Just when they think things are starting to calm down, they get blindsided by another surprise... and not one they particularly liked. Job loss, health problems, relationship difficulties... it can be overwhelming sometimes.

Fortunately, we are overwhelmed from the opposite direction, and in a positive way. God's love endures forever. In case that wasn't made clear the first time the Psalmist says it, he repeats it over and over and over. So you don't have to wonder. You needn't worry. You can rest assured: His love endures forever.

He will take care of you. Trust Him. His love will never give out, never let go, never let you down. He's better than Rick Astley.

Thank You, God, for loving us so much that the Psalmist has to tell us over and over just to hint at it.
