he went the other way

Today's Readings: Jonah 1:1-4:11, Revelation 5:1-14, Psalm 133:1-3, Proverbs 29:26-27

God called Jonah to do something great. He went in the opposite direction. I can understand that... since sometimes God calls us to do things that are scary. But when He calls us, He also helps us do them. As Jonah found out.

God is calling me and you to do things, too. And if we're wise, we'll ask Him what those things are. Then we'll ask for help and wisdom to do those things. And surprise! We'll find ourselves enjoying it. God not only equips us to do the things He wants us to do, He even makes it so that we LIKE doing them. If we'll just remember to go TO Ninevah and not in the opposite direction when He calls.

Not to mention the cattle!

Thanks for Your calling, Your help, and making us like what You want us to do.

Not only did he go the opposite way he judged the people as not worthy.....sure sounds familiar..... Let's us hear the call and not question the reason
