are you called?

Today's readings: Amos 1:1-3:15, Revelation 2:1-17, Psalm 129:1-8, Proverbs 29:19-20

In the OT reading, we hear about a vow called the Nazirite vow. You can read about it here.  God called people to be different - to be holy. And they took a vow to do so.

God is calling people today to be different, too. What does that mean? Well, for one thing, God still calls people to be Nazirites. You might ask if He's calling you to do that.

But if He's not, He IS calling you to something. He has given you special gifts, and certain desires and talents. He is calling you to be different. Not just different from "the world", but even different from other Christians. Ever thought about that? We're not all called to follow Him the same way. So when God calls you to be different, that means He's calling you to be uniquely YOU.

If you've read any of my blogs, you'll know what I'm going to say next. If you want to follow Him, and listen to what He's calling you to do, just ask Him to show you. He'll show you. He WANTS you to do this... so when you ask Him to show you how, of COURSE He's going to say yes.

Ask how He wants you to be different today. You'll be glad you did.

Thanks, God, for calling all of us to be different.

Thank You Father for calling us to be exactly what you created us to be. Help Us Holy Spirit to be uniquely what the Father call into being.
