at work in you

Today's readings: Isaiah 60:1-62:5, Philippians 1:27-2:18, Psalm 72:1-20, Proverbs 24:11-12

One of the coolest things we learn from the Bible is found in today's readings. Man, if you aren't reading the Philippians readings, you're missing out. Philippians is my favorite book of the Bible. I love the gospel of John, and John 1, 2, and 3. But Philippians is chock full of great verses.

The one that jumps out today is "For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him."

Isn't that amazing? Not only does God give us awesome things to do in our lives, which match up with the gifts He's given us, but He actually then works INSIDE of us, giving us the DESIRE to do what He wants. He actually helps us WANT to do what He wants us to do. And then, He gives us the power to do it!

It's like ... how can we go wrong? But we find ways, don't we?

Let's pray that God will work in us today to want to do His will, and give us the power to do it.

Thank You, God, for working in us and making us more like you, wanting to do the right things.
