a twist on a theme

Today's readings: Isaiah 57:15-59:21, Philippians 1:1-26, Psalm 71:1-24, Prov 24:9-10

My favorite verse in the Bible is found in today's reading: "For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." That sums it up, doesn't it?

But the verse that jumps out at me is verse 6 - "He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it."

You might think of Jerry MacGuire when you see the pic above. But in a kind of twist, we can see this as our prayer today. God completes us... He finishes the work that He began in us when we first believed in Him. He makes us whole.

Thank You, God, that we can trust You to complete the work you started in us.
