Judges 9:22-10:18, Luke 24:13-53, Psalm 100:1-5, Proverbs 14:11-12
the two disciples on the road to emmaus is always one of my favorite stories. but the thing that jumped out at me was when they said that Jesus explained the Scriptures to them, and how their hearts burned within them when He did.
the Bible can be really dull and boring. as we're traveling through it this year, i'm sure you've found parts that were a little ho-hum... the yawning passages.
but every day, there is something. every day, the Spirit of God opens the Bible to us, and something jumps out. today, it was the jumping out itself that jumped out.
it's amazing to me that you can read the Bible every day, year after year, and every day still find something new, something that speaks to you in a way that it never has before.
God, please keep opening the Scriptures to us, so our hearts will burn within us.

This was definitely an eye opener, or maybe an opening to us about how he cares to make our hearts alive with His words and draws us to Him thru the scriptures, His written word. Lord help me to continue reading everyday, and leave myself open to Your words.
