ay!

this was much better than i was expecting. but i have to give a caveat: if you see this, you MUST have a theater full of kids with you. they Definitely enhance the experience.
.
i'm not a big drew barrymore fan. i personally just don't like her crooked smile and 'oh gosh aren't i adorable' expressions. but i did like her in this role.
.
the first 10 minutes of the movie were horrible. they were, i think, what alot of people think of when they see the previews. if the whole movie had been like that, i would have hated the whole thing.
.
but it gets better after the first 10 minutes. it's not all cute dogs and little canine jackets and booties. in fact, the film kind of disses that whole idea.
.
it brings up some interesting and thought provoking canine concepts - like dog fighting and rescue shelters. it doesn't ever get very deep, or preachy, but it brings them up for consideration.
.
all in all - i don't recommend it to everyone. but if you like dogs at all, especially chihuahuas, i think you'll enjoy this.
