what happened when they cancelled Jesus

Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

Numbers 14:1-15:16
Mark 14:53-72
Psalm 53:1-6
Proverbs 11:4

Let's look at Mark. Jesus is before the religious leaders of His time. They are accusing Him of doing all kinds of terrible things, but He doesn't say anything. Then they ask Him a very clear question. "Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?"

When Jesus answers them, giving them one of the greatest utterances ever made throughout all of history, they become enraged and sentence Him to death.

So don't be surprised when YOU speak the truth and the world becomes enraged. There are lots of truths that we can say today that the world finds unbearable. The definition of a woman, for example. The fact that all sex outside of marriage is sinful for another. Saying anything about Covid or the vaccines unless you're agreeing with the official position. Saying these things on some social media will get you banned - will get you cancelled. My own Facebook account was banned permanently (and I had to start a new one) because I dared to say things about Covid that were not accepted by the main stream media.

In the coming days, we'll see what happened when they cancelled Jesus. He didn't stay cancelled.

And neither will you.

God, thanks for being bigger than the powers that be in our world that try to silence the truth.
