Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:
Leviticus 25:47-27:13
Mark 10:32-52
Psalm 45:1-17
Proverbs 10:22
Let's look at Mark. A blind man calls out to Jesus. Jesus asks what he wants. And the man says he wants to see, so Jesus heals him. Pretty straightforward, right?
Well, when YOU call out to Jesus, He asks YOU what you want, too. What are you going to ask for? Let me caution you... don't ask for a BMW or a bigger house or a million dollars. Most likely He's not going to give you those things. See James 4:2-3 for details on that.
But stop right now and ask yourself: God is listening. What will I ask for? What is most important to me?
Now, I would like to flesh this out a little more. You don't just get ONE ask. You can ask God for things all day long, every day. He wants to hear from you ALL of the time. He commands us to pray constantly. Everything you say and do in your life can be a prayer if you lift it up to Him. Pray about what food you eat each day. Pray about what show to watch. Pray about whether to wear your red shirt or blue one today. Not in a "God will be mad at me if I wear the wrong one!" mentality, but in a "God wants to be part of every little thing I do every day" kind of way. He loves you. He wants to be part of your day to day life.
So that being said: what do you want?
God, thanks for being part of our every day lives. Help us to want what You want for us.
