don't be fooled by false messiahs

Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

Numbers 8:1-9:23
Mark 13:14-37
Psalm 50:1-23
Proverbs 10:29-30

Let's look at Mark. It's more like what we heard last night. Jesus is teaching His disciples what to look for when the end times come. And He clearly states that no one but the Father knows when that will be. But He also warns us not to be taken in by false teachers and fake messiahs.

You might find it interesting that there are many who think that some global leaders (who they are I will leave to your insight and imagination) who plan to use drones and holograms to fake the return of Jesus in the clouds. They would then give Christians orders to follow. That's one reason why we need to make sure we aren't taken in by fake messiahs. You never know what the enemy will try.

So how are we to know? Here's the thing: learn to recognize His voice now. Spend time in the Bible. Learn what He sounds like when He teaches. Talk to Him every day and find out how He speaks to us. That way, when the false teachers come and pretend to be Him, we'll know it's not. He said His sheep recognize His voice. That's me and you. So learn to recognize His voice so that when He DOES come back, we'll know it's Him.

That is, if He comes back anytime soon. Remember, we don't know - and can't know - when that will be. So be ready, get to know Him better, and be ready when He comes for you. Maybe He'll come in the clouds... maybe He'll come to take you home personally. Either way, be ready!

God, thanks for teaching us not to be taken in by people pretending to be You.
