"I was born poor, I lived poor, and I die poor," was a phrase famously spoken by St Pius X, the subject of our reading in the book In Caelo et in Terra today. He was always, in his heart, a poor parish priest, even when he was bishop and pope. His motto was to restore all things in Jesus, and He did this by focusing on the Eucharist. He lowered the age necessary to receive the Eucharist, and encouraged everyone to receive as often as possible. He said, "The Eucharist is the safest and surest way to heaven."
This reflects what God has been telling ME lately. See, as you know, the world is in chaos these days. Some very powerful people are telling some very big lies, and they're pulling some really big strings, and trying to do some terrible things. I see this.
All my life, I've been the person who saw THROUGH the joke, saw the trick, saw the wool being pulled over eyes. But I never knew what to DO about it. I saw it, but I was puzzled how to respond. I took this to God in prayer recently, and He said that first and foremost, I should meet Him in the Eucharist. Of course, He has called me to write, which I do every day. But MOST OF ALL, He calls me to the Eucharist. So, in obedience (and in excitement!) I have committed to going to Eucharistic adoration and mass every Tuesday and every Thursday from now on. I spend time with Him there, and I open my ears, my mind, and my heart for Him to speak. Sometimes, He'll just tell me He loves me.
Sometimes, He'll tell me other things.

How is God calling YOU to respond to the insanity of the world today? Let me tell you... it's hard to do better than follow St Pius X's advice and focus entirely on the Eucharist. On Jesus.
God, thanks for the great focus given to us by this pope. St Pius X, pray for us.
