God comforts angels

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Zechariah 1:1-21. I found something I've never seen before, even though I've read through the Bible over a dozen times now. In Zechariah 1:7, we're told that God speaks "kind and comforting words to the angel."

I never noticed that God comforts the angels until now. I included the picture above because we all know that God sends us humans comfort in various forms, and most especially He sends us animals to make us happy and cheer us up. There are too many examples of dogs especially bringing joy and peace to someone, especially when they've lost a loved one, for me to include in this blog.

But God doesn't just comfort us humans. He comforts the angels too. That makes me happy to realize that angels have moods and need cheering up sometimes, and God gives them the encouragement that they need.

God, thanks for sending us doggos to cheer us up, and thanks for comforting the angels.
