taste and see

Today we read from Job 34:1-36:33 in the One Year Bible. Elihu is still talking, and he tells Job (and us) that our ears can test words to see if they're true. Just like the mouth tests foods to make sure they're what we're expecting and not poison. 

This is what we're told in Psalm 34, as well. Taste and see that the LORD is good. Come and find out. Yes, you will need to have faith at some point. But you can work up to it. You can give your mind something to build on, so that you don't have to blindly believe in something that makes no sense. Come and see how good God is. Talk to people who have put their faith in Him. Read about the saints who devote their whole lives to loving Him and loving others. Taste and see that He is good... and that you can trust Him.

God, thanks for showing us that we can trust You.
