commit yourself to seeking God

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from 2 Chronicles 19:1-20:37. A prophet goes out to meet the king of Israel, and he tells him that God is not very happy with him because the king has been seeking favor with wicked men.

But, the prophet points out, the king DOES have some good in him - mostly because he "committed himself to seeking God."

That's something we can all strive for. No matter what sins tend to drag us down, if we commit ourselves to seeking God, He will be found. He will reach back to us, when we reach out, and will save us from whatever sins we struggle with.

God, thanks for helping us find You when we commit ourselves to seeking You.
