Today we read from 2 Samuel 14:1-15:22. We read a heart warming story of reconciliation between David and his son Absalom. It takes over two years for them to come back together and be reunited, and then things don't go super smooth afterwards. But for a time, there is peace. And it comes because both David and Absalom give it time to heal.
Sometimes that's what it takes. If you're mad at someone, or someone is mad at you... give it time. Pray for them every day, and over time, you'll find that things will heal. It might take years, but time and prayer will fix many relationships.
God, thanks for teaching us to give it time.
