Today in the One Year Bible, we read about the whore of Babylon. There is much conjecture about who the whore of Babylon is. Some (erroneously) think it's the Catholic Church. Others think it's the city of Rome, or the city of Jerusalem. It's sad to say that the United States could give many nations a run for their money for the title.
Whoever it is, we should pray for those who live there. And we should pray that if we live in that city, we will stand firm with Jesus and especially stand firm if we're called to martyrdom.
God, thanks for showing us this sign. Please give us wisdom.
