what is and isn't our job

Today in the One Year Bible, Paul lets us know what is our job. And that brings to mind what ISN'T our job. This is in Titus 1:1-16.

He tells us that he was sent to "proclaim faith to those God has chosen and to teach them to know the truth that shows them how to live godly lives."

We know from other verses that our job is to love people. And in this verse Paul tells us that he was called (and we can infer that we are also called) to share our faith with those that God has chosen and teach them how to live godly lives. We are NOT called to convince them that the truth is true. We are not called to force anyone to do something they don't want to do. We simply share the truth, in love, and God works through that sharing to bring people to Him.

So don't stress if you share the truth and people don't respond. Your job isn't to convince them. Your job is to love them, and to share the truth.
