the same kind of faith
Today in the One Year Bible, we read from 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:10. Paul says that he and his fellow apostles had "the same kind of faith" as the Psalmist (probably David) when they did the works that God called them to do.
You know you have that "same kind of faith", too, right? Which is pretty cool to think about. Paul was looking back and David's faith and realizing that he was interacting with God in a similar (though also different and unique) way that David had several thousand years earlier.
We look back and Paul's faith, and the way he interacted with God and received God's blessings and promises (in the midst of hardship) and we realize that we're relating to God in a similar (though different and unique) way. In all the ways we relate to God, we're going to see similar themes running through our relationship as we see in other people's. But we'll also see differences. God doesn't relate to any of us EXACTLY the same way. But there are themes that we can see and trace.
God, thanks for giving us reflections of the way You relate to us in the relationships You have with others.
