what we should think about

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Romans 14:1-23. Paul tells us something that we should really try to remember today. He says, "The Kingdom of God is living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit... let us aim for harmony in the church and build each other up."

Does that sound like your daily practice? I know I could benefit from practicing this more. It's easy to get sucked into thinking about all the bad stuff going on, isn't it? Especially with the Democratic debates going on right now. But Paul teaches us the better way. Think about good things. Be full of peace and joy. Live in harmony with others, and build each other up.

We read in another verse in the NT that we should control what we actually think about. Whatever is true, pure, holy, honest, lovely, virtuous, or worthy of praise, says Philippians 4:8, we should think about instead of all the negative nonsense that is fed to us on a daily basis by the news media.

So fill your mind with these things. You'll LITERALLY be glad you did.

God, thanks for teaching us how to change our lives by controlling what we think about.
