when we need it

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Mark 9:1-29. Jesus and His disciples go up on the mountain, and Moses and Elijah appear to Jesus and encourage Him. They strengthen Him for what is to come - His passion.

We often need that kind of encouragement too, don't we? And God still sends it. Maybe you're in a rough patch right now, tonight. Maybe you're struggling with the slings and arrows that outrageous fortune are throwing at you, and it's causing you to wonder if it really is better to be or not to be.

Ask. He has promised to answer us when we ask. Ask Him for the encouragement that you need to keep going. To make it another day. To draw the next breath, and not to give up. Maybe He's speaking to you through my unworthy words right now. Or maybe He'll send you someone more qualified and wiser who can lead you to a place of peace and joy.

In any case, ask. He'll strengthen you.

God, thanks for sending us what we need, when we need it.
