when God tells us what's next
Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Hebrews 8:1-13. In this passage, we're told that God has been disappointed by how His people have not kept their part of the covenant in the past, but that in the future, He will put His law into their hearts and minds so that they will be His people, and He will be their God.
And the thing to realize about that is He is outside of space and time. So He isn't looking forward to these things like we do, hoping that it works out that way. He's telling us what is going to happen, because He can already see it.
That's how we can trust Him for our future, too. He sees it already. It's not a surprise. He's already got it worked out, and is already answering the prayers we haven't prayed yet.
God, thanks for already being there, in the future, ready to take care of us.
