all good things

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from James 1:1-18. James tells us that God doesn't tempt us. But that all good things come down from Him. If there is anything good in your life, it was sent to you from God. The love we feel for other people - that's a glimpse of His love. The pleasures that we feel are hints of the great ecstasy we'll experience in His presence one day. ALl of the goods in our lives are hints of the greater goods that will come eventually.

So we can thank Him for every little good in our lives. And we can, without worry, know that these goods come from Him and are truly good. Just because something isn't in a church or doesn't come because we prayed for it doesn't mean that it's not a good thing sent to us from Him.

Thank You, God, for teaching us that all good things come from You.
