God doesn't want your stuff

In the One Year Bible, we read from 2 Corinthians 12:11-21. In this passage, Paul says that he doesn't want the belongings or the money that the Corinthians had. He wanted the people themselves. And that reminds us of what God wants.

Does God want us to give Him money? Well, He DOES want us to support the local church (or how will they keep ministering?) and to help the poor. But He doesn't need our money. What He desires is us, ourselves. Does He want us because He needs worshipers? Of course not. God doesn't need anything. He's a never ending font of goodness and love and creativity. He doesn't NEED anything.

But He wants us, rather like Gandalf wants us in the pic above. He wants to take us on adventures. He wants to enrich our lives. He wants to show us who we really are.

So think about giving yourself to Him, if you haven't already. Just maybe say, "God, I'm Yours. Do with me as You will."

And then see what adventure befalls you.

God, thanks for taking us on adventures.
