behind the scenes
Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Acts 18:23-19:12. We read about a man who apparently did some great things for God in Corinth, but most of us have never heard of him.
We know about Peter and Paul and even Barnabas. But if you were asked to name those in the New Testament who helped people come to know Jesus, chances are you wouldn't think to name Apollos. In fact, most people probably wouldn't even know that Apollos is even in the Bible.
But that's not a bad thing. Some people are called to work behind the scenes. For every Paul, there are hundreds of people who are quietly doing the will of God in the background, sharing the truth of what God has done in their lives with others in love. Helping the people within their sphere of influence to know God better. Enabling everyone they know to grow in their faith.
Those of you who are reading this probably find yourself in this group. I mean, there might be some renowned speakers or preachers who come across this blog. But most likely, everyone who reads this is working quietly in the background, bringing the kingdom of God to earth in their own little ways.
And God bless you for it.
God, thank You for working through the mighty, famous, well known preachers and speakers. And thank You for working through us in the background, too.
