He tells us about people who are so caught up in proving God exists, that they never get past that. And you probably know people like that, don't you? They keep posting "God is real!" and sharing stories about Christians proving atheists wrong. Now, that's a good place to start (realizing God is real). But it's not a good place to end.
It brings to mind the verse where Paul says in Hebrews 5:12 that we should be teaching by now, but we're so far behind that we still need someone to give us the milk of our faith... we're not ready for the meat yet.
Have you found yourself stuck at the beginning? Are you in the starting gate, watching the race take off without you? Or maybe you know someone who is? Well, the good news is that there is hope (there's always hope!) You can ask God to help you get out of the starting gate. If you ask Him to teach you so that you can start eating the meat of the faith, and leave the milk stage behind, He will certainly answer that prayer. Just ask. He will say yes.
God, thank You for patiently waiting for us to grow up. Please show us the ways in which we need to, and help us to grow.
