Lewis tells us about applying the idea from one math problem to another in our reading from A Year with C.S. Lewis.
He says that we have to love other people just because they're "selves". And that we've been given "practice" by learning to love ourselves the same way - just because we are people who need love.
He tends to teach us that way, doesn't He? He shows us that we can trust Him for the big things by being faithful in the little ones. He shows us that we go to sleep every night and wake up every morning, so that we learn that one day, when we go to the sleep of death, we will wake up again to the light of eternity.
He shows us in the unconditional love of our dogs what it looks like to love someone with no strings attached. So that we can experience His love, and so we can learn to love Him back and love other people the same way, without expectation, without requirements.
So what is our response to all of this? Well, I for one am grateful that He takes such good, loving care of us. That He keeps it simple, giving us lessons that we can grasp. Teaching us in our own language what His love looks like.
Thank You, God, for helping us see how great You are.

Nothing makes me laugh out loud is some of the things that my dog does to get my attention and when she grins at things, just happy to be with us enjoying life. We could definitely learn how to treat each other....
One of my favorite God's song here in our country the title is "Tell the World of His Love"
Please allow me to pick some of the lyrics of this song.
"Let us tell the world
of His Love.The greatest
love the world has known."
This is a beautiful song that tells us how God loves us unconditionally.
