Today in A Year with C.S. Lewis, he talks to us about vanity. He tells us that it's the smallest and most pardonable of the pride sins. But we know that it IS still something for us to work on.
Vanity is thinking too much, and too highly, of ourselves. It's being "full of ourselves". And one of the best ways to combat this sin is to take the focus off of the self. To focus on others, and on God. And we can do this through love.
God, fill our hearts with Your love, that pride, even the little vanity version, is driven out.
