Today’s readings: Ezekiel 23:1-49, Hebrews 10:18-39, Psalm
109:1-31, Proverbs 27:13
One of the kindest things I’ve read in the Bible is in today’s
NT reading in Hebrews. Hebrews 10:24 says “Let us think of ways to motivate one
another to acts of love and good works.”
Think about what he is saying. Let’s work together, and come
up with ways that we can cause our brothers and sisters to show love to other
people, and to do good works. That’s one step beyond loving other people… that’s
helping OTHER people to love people. Pretty amazing.
What can you do today to cause people you know to love
others, and to do good? Sometimes just a kind word does this. When you hear
someone say something nice, it makes you want to ‘pay it forward’. Speaking of
paying it forward… you’ve heard of paying for people’s meals or drinks when you’re
in line at the drive thru, right? That’s another way… random acts of kindness
promote more random acts of kindness. And makes the world a better place.
Thanks, God, for inspiring us to not only love people, but
help THEM love people.

Instead of paying it forward, this would be praying it forward.....
