Today's readings: Ecc 10:1-12:14, 2 Cor 8:1-15, Psalm 49:1-20, Prov 22:20-21
The readings are all over the place today. From "knowing a fool by the way he walks down the street" (can't you just picture it?) to ancient Viagra (aka Caperberries and talked about here), we wind around much of life in our readings.
And twice, we're reminded that this will end soon. Death is just around the corner. Doesn't it seem like time is flying? And soon it will be over.
So what are you doing with your life? Think about the day you had today. Is this what you want to be doing with the time you have left? THIS... what you did today... this is your life. Is it what you want?
If not, you can do something about it. Learn something new. Go somewhere you've never been. Meet people. Eat new foods. Take a class. Go on an adventure. Read a book. Do something new! You only have so many minutes. Make the most of them!
If that seems overwhelming, pray that He will direct you. Ask Him to transform your life into what He wants it to be (which, by the way, is also what YOU want it to be.... that's what Psalm 37:4 means)... and then get ready to say "yes" when He starts changing things.
This is your life. Make it what you want it to be!
Thanks, God, for giving us the gift of our lives. Please help us make the most of them.
