1 Kings 14:1-15:24, Acts 10:1-23, Psalm 133:1-3, Proverbs 17:7-8
i love the rendition of Peter's dream above. that would be a pretty alarming thing to see!
it occurs to me that there are many things in my life that i'm tempted to call unclean, that God has called clean. there are people who i may be afraid to get too close to, for one reason or another, because it would make me vulnerable... or it might appear to be compromising.
but God has called us to love everyone. He wants us to be like Jesus - eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners, loving people and bringing the love of God into their lives.
Peter thought he only going to share the love of God with Jews... but God had other plans. the plan to share the kingdom of God with only Jews was "too small". what plans of mine are too small?
what should i be opening my heart and mind to that He has called clean?
God, please show me how to open myself up to your will.

Well said, I too really like the rendition of Peter's dream however, the OT reading teaches us the consequences of disobedience to the way God intends us to live. Yes we are to be a beacon in the darkness for others to see the light but we are not to except their sins and follow their ways for friendship. It's a fine line between helping others to find Christ and allowing them to create doubt in our walk with Christ. Praying and witnessing is our reason to be here on earth, compassion for others, and lastly a right example of a Godly life to draw others to Him.
