today's readings: Joshua 22:21-23:16, Luke 20:27-47, Psalm 89:14-37, Proverbs 13:17-19
the Sadducees try to trap Jesus today. He takes the opportunity to teach us all something. not only is God the Lord of the living, not the dead, but He's the Lord of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, implying pretty strongly that they're in heaven and not hell. and then He asks an amazing question about the Messiah being both David's descendant and His Father.
it makes you wonder what He would say if we asked Him something today. with hindsight, we know what He meant about David. but what could He amaze us with today?
thank you, God, for being so amazing and for revealing yourself to us little people.
