if you consider yourself a follower of Jesus, then today's reading should really make you sit up and take notice. someone saw how wise Jesus's answers were, and so they asked Him "what's the most important thing in life?"
He said "Love God with all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength. And love the other people in your life like you love yourself."
that's pretty profound. that's what we need to remind ourselves of each day. yes, avoiding sin is important. yes, we should try to kick bad habits. but THE MOST important thing in life is NOT what we don't do.
it's love. God wants us, more than anything else in the world, to love Him.
our whole lives are love stories. let's pray that they're not unrequited.
God, please help me to love you more every day.
