today's readings: Numbers 21:1-22:20, Luke 1:26-56, Psalm 57:1-11, Proverbs 11:9-11
i love both the OT and NT readings for today. in the OT, we see the beloved story of Balaam. we haven't gotten to the donkey yet, but it's already interesting. i really love how Balaam hears God say not to go curse the Israelites, but when the men from the king come back, he says "let's see what God says today". therein lies wisdom. so many times, we hear what God said yesterday and assume that that's our answer today. the truth is that God speaks to us everyday, and wants us to listen everyday. He won't contradict Himself, unless it is to bring us better things. (that may sound wrong, but there are many times in the Bible that God says something bad is going to happen, like the destruction of Ninevah, but then His mercy overpowers His judgment and He "changes His mind")
in the NT, we see Mary. she says Yes. the great and wonderful Yes that brings the Savior into the world. in both stories, we see humans afraid. but we see them respond with Yes to God, and we see amazing things happen as a result.
God, please help me say Yes to You today.

Loved the reads today. To know what God would have you to do you must have communication with Him daily. Lord I will seek your face every day of my life.
