Today in the One Year Bible we read from Matthew 26:14-46. Jesus is in anguish, praying for His upcoming trials. He asks His closest disciples to pray with Him. They fall asleep. He keeps asking them and they keep falling asleep.
He asks you and me to pray with Him too. Can you spend an hour in prayer with Him today? An hour might seem like a long time. What works for me is to take prayer walks. That way my body doesn't distract me with boredom or sleepiness while I'm praying. If you find yourself struggling to pray for a long time, you might try it.
God, please help us learn to spend more time in prayer.
