multiple meanings

We read these verses today in the One Year Bible:

1 KINGS 14:1-15:24
ACTS 10:1-23
PSALM 133:1-3
PROVERBS 17:7-8

Peter has a vision in which God tells him that it's OK to eat non kosher foods. But the vision has a second meaning: that God is taking the gospel to non Jewish peoples. Often, when God speaks to us, through the Bible or the church or in other ways, what He says has multiple meanings. For example, the suffering servant passages from Isaiah and the Psalms meant something in their time... and they applied to Jesus on the cross.

How has God spoken to you lately? Could there have been more than one meaning?

God, thank You for speaking to us, and often giving us multiple meanings when You do.
