Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:
1 Samuel 5:1-7:17
John 6:1-21
Psalm 106:13-31
Proverbs 14:32-33
Let's look at the Proverb. It says, "Wisdom reposes in the heart of the discerning, and even among fools she lets herself be known." Of course the "wisdom" that the writer is talking about is a personification of God. Maybe Jesus, since He is the Logos, which also means "wisdom" in addition to "word".
But the writer here is pointing to God's grace. Grace means doing something for someone that they don't deserve. And the writer says that even fools, who definitely don't deserve wisdom, can sometimes find wisdom among them.
Thank goodness God gives us undeserved grace, because otherwise all of us fools would be lost.
God, thanks for Your grace.
