God Calls Every Generation: One Year Bible Reading for April 24

 
Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

Judges 2:10-3:31
Luke 22:14-34
Psalm 92:1-93:5
Proverbs 14:1-2

Let's look at Judges. We're told that the generation in which God had done so many miraculous things passed away, and a new generation arose that "knew neither the Lord nor what He had done for Israel."

This brings up some important points. One is that when one generation passes away, there's always a fear that the next generation is going to fall away from God and no one will remember what He did for their fathers. That's why it's important for us to pass down to our children the stories of what God has done.

But it also brings up the fact that God continues to call people to follow Him. And in every generation, there are those who hear His call and answer. He is calling you today. Will you answer?

God, thanks for making sure that we don't forget about You from one generation to the next.
