Taking Care of the Weak: One Year Bible Reading for February 25

Today we read the following passages in the One Year Bible:

Leviticus 16:29-18:30
Mark 7:24-8:10
Psalm 41:1-13
Proverbs 10:15-16

Let's look at Psalm 41. It tells us something that SHOULD be common sense. Like, something that we should not HAVE to be told. It says to take care of those who are weak. "Blessed are those who have regard for the weak, for the Lord delivers them in times of trouble."

God promises to take care of US (in our weakness) if we take care of others when they're weak. When you look at that picture above, of COURSE you want to take care of that cute little kid. But unfortunately, the world has lost its mind. And instead of taking care of kids, the predators of the human species target kids and exploit them.

Let's, at the very least, pray for all of the weak who need help. Pray for those in Ukraine who are suffering under the attacks right now. Pray for all of those who are captives in sex trafficking. And pray for all who are sick and need medicine, especially those who can't afford it. If God sees fit, do something tangible about it, too. But at the very least, pray!

God, thanks for taking care of the weak, and calling us to do the same.
