Today we read from the One Year Bible in the following places:
Leviticus 9:7-10:20
Mark 4:26-5:20
Psalm 37:30-40
Proverbs 10:6-7
Let's look at Leviticus. (You don't hear that often, do you?) Moses takes Aaron and teaches him how to offer sacrifices for the sins of the people of Israel. As you read through the process, you can't help but notice that it is a foreshadowing... a foretaste... of what Jesus will do in His perfect sacrifice on the cross.
So why didn't God just send Jesus back in Moses's time? Why didn't He "do it right the first time"? Well, the Bible actually tells us that answer to that question. (Go figure!) We are told in Galatians 4:4 that God sent Jesus "in the fullness of time". God does things on His timetable, according to His schedule, which is always perfect, and usually NOT what we're expecting. He's really good at surprising us with not only the answer to our questions, but answers to questions we never thought to ask.
So if you're struggling today with something and you'd like God to give you the answer, to solve your problem, rest assured that He will. In the fullness of time. And His answer will be perfect.
God, thanks for doing the perfect thing at the perfect time.
