Today in the book In Caelo et in Terra, we read about Gabriel the archangel. Technically he's not a saint, because he's not human. Angels are a separate creation. And fun fact: each angel is its own distinct species! But we can informally call them saints because they're holy and they live in heaven.
Gabriel came and delivered messages throughout the Bible. He tells John the Baptist's parents that they will have a child. He tells Mary that she will have Jesus. He delivers messages in the Old Testament, too. You can read more about him here.
God is giving YOU messages today, usually not by having a huge scary archangel show up in your room. But He gives you messages every day. Will you say yes, like Mary and John the Baptist's parents?
God, thanks for giving us angels to give us messages and to protect us. St Gabriel the Archangel, pray for us.
