God with us

Today Thomas Keating tells us about God being with us in A Daily Reader for Contemplative Living.

And that’s pretty profound to contemplate. That God is with us. Most perfectly so in the person of Jesus, of course. In His life and ministry, which we can interact with even today using lectio divina. (Send me a message if you would like to learn more about this.) Also, and very powerfully, in the Eucharist.

But we can and do experience Him in our everyday lives, too. He is here with us. God is among us, and this becomes even more true when “two or more are gathered in His name”. It also becomes more true when we pray “Your kingdom come, Your will be done.”

Let us, with Mary, say the eternal “yes!” that brings the eternal God of love into our midst, filling our lives with meaning and purpose.

God, thank You for being with us.
