what's my name again?

Lewis talks about how we all love God differently today in A Year with C.S. Lewis.

He brings up the very mysterious and profound verse in Revelation that says that in Heaven, God will give each of us a white stone with a name on it that only we know, and no one else. One of the things this means, he says, is that we all know God in a slightly different way. And this is true.

God has made all of us unique. Even if you are an identical twin, you still see things differently than your twin. And God relates to each of us in a way that perfectly matches the personality that we have.

When we explore the idea of names, we see that our very identity is something given to us by God. And since He gives us our identity and no one knows exactly what it is except for us and God, our very selves are an intimate secret between us and the one who loves us most.

God, thank You for caring about each of us so much that You give us a secret identity to share with You alone.
