a prayer that always gets a "yes" answer

Today's readings: Ezekiel 7:1-9:11, Hebrews 5:1-14, Psalm 105:1-15, Proverbs 26:28

The writer to the Hebrews today points out our goal... and our present condition.

He tells his readers that they really should be able to learn the more advanced things of God... but they're stuck on the easy stuff.

Ever feel like that? That we should be wearing that nametag up there... but we stopped somewhere along the way. We still need to learn some of the basics.

Well, wherever you find yourself along the spectrum of baby to mature adult, you've got help. You can ask for help from Him, and He will help you. One of the prayers that you know will always get a "yes" answer is "God, give me wisdom." Because the Bible promises us "if anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives it liberally, and doesn't give you a hard time about it. and He will give it to you." (that's my version. the KJV says "upbraideth not" and the NIV says "without finding fault") But notice the last six words... "He will give it to you."

That's a promise. If you lack wisdom, ask. And He will give it to you. Pretty cool, huh?

Thank You, God, for giving us wisdom without giving us a hard time. Please give me more wisdom.

Thru His words we can obtain wisdom, this studying His word daily has and does give us a closer understanding of God everyday. Make it a priority much higher than reading all your email or fr posts. Start with your time reading His word. God help me to do this.
