YOUR transformation

Today's readings: Jeremiah 2:31-4:18, Colossians 1:1-17, Psalm 76:1-12, Proverbs 24:21-22

In Colossians today, Paul says "This same Good News that came to you," and came to YOU, the person reading this blog, "is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives," YOUR life, "from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God's wonderful grace."

So much there to drink in. Just think... from the time that Jesus lived, died, and rose again, the good news of the salvation that He brought us went out all over the world. Think about all of those people all over the world being changed by hearing that news. But then it comes home to YOU, the reader. THAT SAME good news came to YOUR life. And it bore fruit. But also importantly, it is BEARING fruit. It is transforming you.

How is it changing you? What is it changing you into? The answer is not the same for all of us. I mean, there are similarities... God is making all of us more loving and kind and patient. But He's not making ME into the same person that He's making YOU into.

And one very important thing to realize - it's up to YOU how much He changes you. How much to you want to be transformed? Do you want to just change a little and then go back to your habits? Do you want to be changed a decent amount, but still hang on to the things that you know are holding you back? Or do you want to be changed completely, transformed into a whole new person who does and says amazing things because He has worked in your life so completely?

The answer to that question is entirely up to you.

If you find yourself wanting to be changed MORE than you've seen in your life so far, guess what you should do? You got it. Pray. Ask Him to transform you.

And you better believe He'll do it!

Thank You, God, for sending out Your good news throughout the world to change it, and for sending it into my life to change me. Please change me COMPLETELY into the person You want me to be.

This helps with people who may have transformed in prison for horrendous crimes.....the good news may have never gotten to them until they were captured. Just my thoughts
