praying for the king

Today's readings: Jer 30:1-31:26, 1 Tim 2:1-15, Psalm 87:1-7, Prov 25:18-19

Paul tells us to pray for the king today. And that's direction we can take to heart. Because the government that Paul was telling his readers to pray for had put him in prison... and would eventually kill him. Yet he still said they should pray for them.

So we should probably take his advice. We should pray for our leaders, including our president. It benefits us if they make wise decisions... and while you might think that certain leaders need all the help they can get (which is true in many cases), that's all the more reason to pray for them.

Thank You, God, for giving us the privilege of praying for our leaders.
